Should I keep information technology?
oil filter housing leaking oil & dripping on catalytic converter Found & Stock-still
its smoking up inside when i end...recirculating air door open...any details on r&r housing...cant notice procedures in chiltons or gm manuals...am i looking in wrong identify...under engine ane.6 LXV ...nothing...open for suggestions ...springs or check ball s going to fall out.? torque bolts?

What'due south incorrect with my motorcar?
In the GM transmission, it's in the "Engine Cooling" section. It looks like quite a mess. You have to bleed the engine oil, coolant and and then remove the exhaust manifold/goad and a coolant pipe to get at the thing. Sounds like task that tin can bloat upward and eat your whole weekend, depending on how many bolts fight y'all.
Be sure to replace all the gaskets or O-rings while you are in there and make certain they are lined upward correct earlier tightening everything upwards. If the O-rings are but a bit exterior where they are supposed to be, they'll seal fine for a fleck and and so cut through and start leaking again.

Should I keep it?
thanx for advice ..simply got exhaust gasket ..gonna pull manifold and have a amend wait ...$500+ from dealer ...lost total quart this week 500 mi...i thot it was doin better cuz smoke wasnt as bad ...guess i cleaned a better trail to ground...underside oil soaked again..i found repair procedures ..still hoping its just a squirting sending unit..knowing my luck ,,will turn to bad karma by morn..apartment rate is simply ii hours..new oil libation due west/all gaskts $240...thats why i wanna take peek showtime..and then...wish me expert luck ..ill take pic and post it ..oh noticed front exhst pipe rusted off converter ...$120 for walker...hopefully inside six to 12 mths parts will b all new..nevertheless b less than 100k..struts are next job

well, the worst was Not oil cooler ..junk sending unit of measurement, it spit out a qt. n 50 miles , thats when i discover idiot lite on @ idle .ck oil ya low..started doing almost every time ,not a simple change either...15/16 deep well, not too deep tho AC in style..not sure i'll ever buy acdelco again..R&R exhaust manifold ...but oil cooler has slow drip ..gives me more than fourth dimension to get all new pipes & seals..looks to exist dripping from bolts ..next calendar week maybe..already got new libation, waiting on tubes now...complete overhaul gasket set cheaper than buying seals separately. $fifty ebay..need some opinions now...any sealer on seals orings..grease. oil, rtv, adhesive aka permatex..im thinking rtv on bolts ..whatever and all input is welcome, new cars are not my field of knowledge..sbc r ..one-time ones..thanx in advance

Should I go along it?
how? or tin can i mail service all pics in same window or is it merely 1 @ a time....any way sending unit of measurement style cheaper than cooler ..good place to kickoff...tin can you meet sending unit ? thinking bout using rtv and brand a deflector to road oil away from catalytic converter ...no rust under car now...who needs undercoating
